No Longer Pursue Ajax Eredivisie title, Now Have Two New Target
Amsterdam – Opportunities Eredivisie won five times in a row is actually owned by Ajax this season. But with the existing situation, Ajax has been aiming for a more realistic target.
At the top level competitions Dutch League Ajax now occupies the second position (50 points), 14 points adrift of standings PSV Eindhoven with another ten matches remaining.
Ajax coach Frank de Boer are now preferring to focus on securing second place in the event, with Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar both had 44 points, rather than desperately chasing PSV.
In addition to the domestic targets Ajax also had another shooting that continues to maintain the highest expectations of achievement in the Europa League after ensuring progress to the round of 16 thanks to a 4-0 aggregate victory over Legia Warsaw. Ajax is now the only remaining Dutch club at the event.
“Now we have two ambitions,” said De Boer, as reported by Reuters.
“(First target) position two in the league that will give us the right to appear in the early rounds of the Champions League (next season) and then drove as far as possible in the Europa League.
“The second target will be very difficult because there are still tough teams left in this event. But we in Ajax had to show off and show how great our ability. That’s all we could do in the Europa League,” he said.
Ajax have never ceased to be a champion on the European stage since the victory of Louis van Gaal’s squad in the Champions League in 1995.
