Memories of 1997 Champions League Final Will Not Help Dortmund
Dortmund – Borussia Dortmund beat Juventus in the Champions League final in 1997. When the two teams met again, the memories will not affect anything for Dortmund.
In the final match of the 1996/1997 season, Dortmund’s 3-1 win over Juventus in the Olympiastadion, Munich. At that time, Dortmund three goals scored by Karl-Heinz Riedle (two goals) and Lars Ricken, while Juve created a consolation goal in the name of Alessandro Del Piero.
Dortmund and Juventus meet again in the last 16 of the same competition this season. At the first meeting, held in Turin, Juventus won 2-1.
